Labor Mobility, labor markets and human capital

On one hand, progress toward greater North American economic integration is well advanced. Moreover, issues regarding North American migration and resulting de facto social integration between the three countries have been much studied. On the other hand, interdependence among labor markets and the need for a competitive workforce in North America are themes that received little attention. CEDAN’s Program on Labor Markets, Labor Mobility, and Human Capital seeks to promote research and dialogue on ways in which to develop an agenda for cooperation to invest in human capital that allows all three North American countries to take advantage of demographic complementarities, the transition toward a knowledge-based economy, and interconnections among labor markets within the region.
